Abstract
The relation between histopathologic and clinical findings were observed on 200 cases of appendicitis.
The results were as follows:

2. Most of the patients came to the hospital within 3 days from onset. 3. The mean W.B.C. count were 13, 500/mm3.
4. Histopathologic type is consist of acute inflammed type(66.5%), not inflammed type (30%), and recurrent type(3. 5%). Acute inflammed type is composed of gangrenous type (26%), diffuse type(22%), and suppurative type(18.5%).
5. The rate of diagnostic error was 6.5%.
6. Complication rate was 22.5% and perferation with periappendiceal abscess was the most common complication.
7. Follicular hyperplasia was important cause of acute appendicitis.
8. There was no precise differential diagnosis among appendicitis, fecalith and lymphoid hyperplasia of the appendix. Each case has to be watched carefully and any increased local sign is a indication for surgery.
